Anna Maas

Welcome back for another great year!  Hello, my name is Mrs. Anna Maas and I provide speech and language services, as well as, reading intervention at Lakeview Elementary!  This is my 9th year as a Speech Pathologist in the school setting, and my 4th year providing reading instruction to elementary students.   I am looking forward to getting to know all of my new friends and catching up with all of the old!  I encourage open communication because I want every parent/guardian and child to feel comfortable sharing their joys and concerns.  If you have any questions, please call or email me any time.  My contact information is listed below.  By working together, we will ensure a positive learning environment for parents and students.

Why Whitewater?
My husband was born and raised in Whitewater and is a proud graduate of Whitewater High School.  After we were married, we decided to raise our family in his home town and have thoroughly enjoyed everything Whitewater has to offer.  I am honored to teach in the district for the town in which I live, and feel blessed to be sending my children to school in the same district.  There is an overwhelming sense of community and family in Whitewater, and our family has experienced those same feelings within the school district.  My husband and I have 3 children, Maggie, Emma, and Carter.  Maggie and Emma will both be attending Lakeview Elementary in 2nd grade and Kindergarten, and Carter will be 3 years old in October.  As a family we love camping, hiking, biking, and attending all of the sporting events at the High School.  We also enjoy cheering for the Packers, Brewers, and any event involving the Wisconsin Badgers!

General Info

I am very happy to be working as a Speech and Language Pathologist in the Whitewater Unified School District for my twelth year. My family and I live in the community and love taking part in all that Whitewater has to offer.  My daughter is a 7th grader at Whitewater Middle School this year and sharing the WWUSD experience with her is very exciting!  I enjoy scrapbooking, gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends. During my time here, I have provided speech and language services to students at the High School, Elementary School, and Preschool levels.  This year, I will be the speech therapist for 9th - 12th grade students at Whitewater High School and 3-6 year old students in Early Childhood, 4-K, Headstart, and Kindergarten at Lakeview Elementary School.  WWUSD is a community that I take pride in. The students, families, and staff I have had the joy to work with make this job a great one.

I believe that having positive and collaborative relationships with university programs can be extremely valuable for everyone involved.  I enjoy supervising, sharing, and learning from the wonderful students and staff that are part of the UWW Communicative Sciences & Disorders Department.  First semester, I will be mentoring Madissen Caballero.  Madi is a graduate student working towards her masters degree.  She is excited to learn the roles and responsibilities of school based speech/language pathology.

Education

I received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Science and Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2007. I earned my masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at UWW in 2010. I also hold a reading 316 license that I obtained through UWW in 2013.
