Lakeview Community PTA works with staff and families to provide many exciting activities throughout the year. Some of the PTA sponsored activities you and your child(ren) can look forward to include:

• All School Field Trip – This is a fun-filled day for students in grades K-5. The event alternates annually between an in-school presentation and an actual field trip. Past events have included a presentation by the Shedd Aquarium and a trip to Discovery World in Milwaukee.• Book Fair (Spring and Fall) - Twice each year, we work with Scholastic, the largest publisher of children's books, to put on a Book Fair for students and their families.

• Christmas Corner - Students enjoy shopping for inexpensive gifts for their family members at our holiday “store.” Volunteers assist with picking out picking out gifts, paying, as well as wrapping. This is a non-profit event; we sell all the items for their actual cost.

• Fire Department Visit – Every fall, local fire departments visit the school to educate our kids about fire safety.

• VIP Day (every other year)– In the spring, students invite their grandparents or a special guest to spend the morning with them at school. Guests are invited to stay for lunch, and volunteers provide baked goods for the grandparents to enjoy along with coffee and juice in the cafeteria.

• Fall Fest/Spring Carnival: The Lakeview PTA sponsors two exciting family activities each year. The Fall Fest's costume parade and dance as well as the Spring Carnival activities and theme basket raffle are sure to be fun for the entire family.

• Horizons Buses/Tickets – All students at Lakeview travel to UW-Whitewater to see various performances at the Young Auditorium. All buses and tickets are provided courtesy of the PTA.

• Olympic Day – Held on the last morning of school, students finish off the school year with some exciting Olympic style events. The event is organized by Lakeview’s Phy. Ed. teacher and is sponsored by the PTA.

• Opera for the Young - Opera for the Young brings live, professional opera to Lakeview. Some of our students appear onstage in chorus and cameo roles, performing right alongside the professional artists.

• Teacher Appreciation Week – Each May we show our appreciation for the work and dedication of our staff and reaffirm the commitment to parent-teacher partnerships.

• Yearbook – The school yearbook is a wonderful keepsake for students. The yearbook includes individual photos of students by class, as well as a collection of candid photos taken at field trips and various school functions.

• Busing costs for class trips.

These are only some of the activities the PTA sponsors. In order to make all of these events possible, we also hold a couple of fundraisers each year. We look forward to having you and your child(ren) at Lakeview and welcome you to become an active member of our community!
